This selection of seasonal steeps is a great way to sample some Homegrown infusions and bring balance and wellness to Spring 2023!

With the equinox comes the need to both clear the winter ama, and calm a time of year notorious for aggravating Pitta allergies and an overabundance of meatabolic fire.  Foods like dark bitter greens and herbs that cleanse, nourish and alkalize the body are best for increasing flow and finding your balance after a long, cold winter. Homegrown’s Spring Steeps were crafted to help cleanse, invigorate and restore for this joyous and busy season, enjoy in good health!  

Spring Tonic – A cleansing and restorative blend for the season of sarsaparilla, milk thistle, oat straw, nettles, hibiscus, lemon balm and dried orange.

Taste: Fruity, earthy

Energy: =VPK, balanced, nourishing and tonic

Brewing Tips: Pour boiling water over herb and steep covered 5 minutes or more.

Equinox Slimmer – This invigorating infusion of damiana, red raspberry leaf, dandelion, angelica, green tea, jasmine and peppermint can help boost metabolism and lift the spirit.

Taste: Floral, minty, earthy

Energy: =VPK, clarifying, stimulant, mood lifting

Brewing Tips:  Pour boiling water over herb and steep covered 3-5 minutes or more. Sweeten to taste.

Farmer’s Morning – Maine chaga, roasted chicory, burdock root, fenugreek, cinnamon and clove makes a hearty, nourishing cup.

Taste:  Earthy, spicy, sweet

Energy: =VPK,  blood building, warming, nourishing

Brewing Tips: Pour boiling water over 1 tsp. – Tbsp blend. Steep covered 5 minutes or more.  

Pitta Chai – Organic red clover flower, lavender, rose petals, cardamom, fennel, sandalwood and vanilla.

Taste:  Sweet, spicy, floral

Energy:  =VPK  cooling, carminative, nourishing

Brewing Tips: Prepare like chai, bring 1 Tbsp blend and 8 oz dairy, or alternative, to a gentle simmer on your stove top for 1 minute. Strain if needed, sweeten to taste. I do this chai in oat milk – it’s delicious!
