This selection of seasonal steeps is a great way to sample some Homegrown infusions and bring balance and wellness to Summer 2023!
With the solstice comes the vibrant, fiery energy of Pitta into full bloom, infusing the world around us with metabolic fire. This time of year tends to get us all celebrating life on a higher level, and is a perfect season to find balance through nourishing and cooling that Pitta energy for all the things we want to flourish. This year’s summer steeps concoct the very best herbal medicine for the job, highlighting all the homegrown tastes of a beautiful summer. Enjoy and be well!
Summer Tonic – A cooling and restorative blend for the season of homegrown nettles, oat straw, fennel, spearmint, lemongrass, saw palmetto berries and dried lemon.
Taste: Minty, sweet and earthy
Energy: =VPK, balanced, nourishing and tonic
Brewing Tips: Pour boiling water over herb and .steep covered 5 minutes or more.
Island Blue – This summer celebration of organic, homegrown lemon balm, hibiscus, dried Maine blueberries, coconut, nutmeg and lime brings the taste of vacation to every cup.
Taste: Sweet, fruity, spicy
Energy: =VPK, cooling, carminative
Brewing Tips: Pour boiling water over herb and steep covered 5 minutes or more. Sweeten to taste.
Morrocan Rose – A floral twist on a classic infusion of homegrown, organic mints, Emerald Green Tea and rose petals. Wonderful iced.
Taste: Minty, bitter, floral
Energy: =VPK, stimulant, cooling, carminative
Brewing Tips: Pour boiling water over 1 tsp. – Tbsp blend. Steep covered 5 minutes or more.
Butterfly Chai – Beautiful, blue and delicious is this herbal treat of organic butterfly pea flower, lavender, cinnamon, hyssop, vanilla and star anise.
Taste: Sweet, spicy, floral
Energy: =VPK cooling, carminative, nourishing
Brewing Tips: Prepare like chai, bring 1 Tbsp blend and 8 oz dairy, or alternative, to a gentle simmer on your stove top for 1 minute. Strain if needed, sweeten to taste. I do this chai in oat milk – it’s delicious!
