The Good and Plenty

This blend of licorice root, slippery elm, marsh mallow root, roses, anise, star anise and fennel, was inspired by my favorite candy, but combines herbs that are a delicious and effective therapy for cough and sore throat. The emphasis on demulcent herbs that contain high levels of natural mucilage, helps to coat and soothe the tissues of the throat and lungs and aid in expectoration. Anise has long been revered as an important herbal remedy for cough, and delicious to those of us who love the flavor of black licorice candy.

Taste: Sweet, pungent

Energy: Cooling, expectorant, anti-inflammatory. =VPK

Brewing Tips:- Sweeten this brew with a touch of molasses for that classic Good and Plenty flavor.

Phony Mulled Cider

This medley of chamomile, hibiscus, cinnamon, cardamom, clove, ginger, and dried Maine apple, celebrates classic mulled cider in all its complexity without that acidic edge. A delicious and balanced blend that is the perfect finish to a home cooked meal or any time of day for a grounding, calming intention.

Taste: Sweet, spicy, mildly tart.

The Ginger Snap

Missing only the flour and eggs, this yummy winter brew pays homage to everybody's favorite little cookie. Cinnamon, clove, ginger and chicory root is also a therapeutic concoction for lowering blood pressure, and a soothing carminative for after a heavy meal.

Taste: Sweet, spicy and pungent.

Energy: Warming, grounding. -€“-V, =P,-K

Brewing Tips: Pour boiling water over tea and steep covered 3-5 minutes. Sweeten to taste At the tea shop I serve this blend with a thin pat of homemade (unsalted) butter and sweeten with a drizzle of molasses.

Birthday Cake

A special and decadent blend for a special occasion of organic cacao, oat straw, roses, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla bean. Cacao, the raw bean from which chocolate is produced, has wonderful restorative and stimulant benefits due to it’s high levels of flavonoids, rich in antioxidants, B vitamins and important minerals including iron, calcium and magnesium. Without the frosting, but you won’t miss it – this brew really “takes the cake”.

Fake Coffee

This blend of roasted yerba mate, chicory and licorice root captures the flavor of coffee with just a third the amount of caffeine. Yerba mate, an herb native to Central and South America,- is a staple stimulant beverage there. With only 35% caffeic acid (compared to coffee, which contains 85%), its stimulant action has more to do with its abundance of B vitamins and warming, drying energy to the body. Delicious any way you dress your Joe, and for sure the best cup of not-java youve ever had.

Taste: Sweet, pungent, mildly bitter.
