Homegrown Herb and Tea was created based on a strong philosophy for blending medicinal herbal teas. Not only is our tea hand blended to order in small batches, but every ingredient is used within three months of harvest. Individual herbs are left whole whenever possible to preserve their aromatic complexities and medicinal potency. This is because a plant's flowers, leaves, seeds and roots all contain protective skins and resins that preserve the volatile oils responsible for flavor and medicinal action. Commercially blended teas, on the other hand, are ground mechanically into a fine powder and packed for mass production, creating a much blander and less therapeutic infusion.

Equally important for a therapeutic herbal tea is the "intention" with which it is crafted. Although now serving an international market, Sarah's philosophy regarding the power of intention hasn't changed. When making a blend especially for you, the energy of that intention is imparted, the same well being and good health with which she would have blessed your tea had you come into the shop and ordered a cup.
